Description and History

Pierre and Jean Moreau, Lords of Breil (1376)

The Grange Moreau castle, with its rich history and proximity to the historical sites of Vallon-sur-Gée, offers an ideal setting for a peaceful and romantic stay in a room that will transport you to the prestigious past of the Moreau family.

The Grange Moreau castle is linked to the Moreau family, who were part of the old feudal system of Maine. The origins of this family cannot be precisely clarified, but the titles of the seigneurie du Breil in Parigné l'Evêque allow them to be linked to the feudal house of Doucelles. The first known lord of the Grange Moreau castle is Jehan Moreau, knight, mentioned in acts dating from 1407 and 1411. The Moreau family then merged into that of Dommaigné.
